In this new aspect ratio, the width looks bigger while its length is exactly half. LG started trading at 18: 9.
You may be wondering why the width was kept the same by increasing the length of the phone? The reason behind this is that companies want to make the screen bigger.
For that, increase the length of the screen. But they keep the width the same so that it is not difficult to hold the phone.
The main purpose of increasing the aspect ratio is to increase the display size of the phone by making it fit in the hand. Not only the size of the screen but also the pixels on the display are always in the same ratio of aspect ratio.
